things to learn

Anyone know how to plan/plant/maintain multi leveled, diverse traditional (aka what's now called "organic"), gardens? Know how to quilt? Know to play steel guitar? Know how to bake bread (in a bread baker machine- hand-me-down from a friend)? Know how to hook rugs?
These are the things I'm learning this spring. I could use any insight/lists of recommended resources you can give. I don't want to have to take a class. I rely on libraries and people and thrift stores for information and supplies, respectively. I'm still in the preliminary stages (procuring necessary supplies and information- no experimentation yet). I've already borrowed the following books for guidance:
        Quilts / Denyse Schmidt
Food Not Lawns / H.C. Flores
The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved / Sandor Ellix Katz
Please, please, please help. I know nothing.
Oh, and I'm still sick so if anyone knows how to get better, that'd help too.

Well, Harry makes his bread using our kitchen aid mixer and then lets it rise, proofs it, and then bakes it without a bread machine. There are a few bread machine books "250 best American bread machine baking recipes" by Donna Washburn. The rest of the stuff you want to learn I have no idea. But Harry knows about gardening and composting since he does all that stuff. Maybe when you come down next month he can show how he bakes bread and gardens.

                    Yes, please. That'd be fantastic.

Don't forget that you and I need a day of fun. Did you keep one of your days off that week? I am so excited about seeing y'all!
